School Activities

Lessons and Activities from our Homeschool that have worked well!

Baking prosphora is a beautiful family activity and gives wonderful opportunities to talk about so many themes in the faith- fellowship, service, saints and angels, Eucharist, the job of a priest… sometimes their little minds wander and it makes for beautiful time in the Little Church.

More recently, we have been playing with Ezekiel Bread!

Its been a wonderful addition to talking about the historic context of God’s people in antiquity.

Its a tangible, edible reminder that when the Bible talks about bread it is not talking about “wonderbread” but a very different thing.

Froggy Sensory Toy

This was LOTS of fun and lasted all year! (Kinder-Lower Elementary)
We used him for a life cycle lesson, and he stuck around for pond life ecology/lifecycles…

He’s lots of fun to feed with tweezers! (fine motor skills)
-Twist little papers to make “flies”
-Feed him “answers” as a math game
-Feed him letters cards or words so he can “burp words/sentences” -my boys has a blast!

I have tried different methods to keep everything organized…

Every week, I make out TO DO lists for each kid… and they lost. Its frustrating and breaks the momentum of the say to do back to my planner and look up what was next…

By hanging the To Do lists on a paper clip, I can have their worksheets with it and they can take it down and put things back as much as they need to! Its working for us so I wanted to share. I hope this is helpful for you too!
