Last night my husband was ordained a deacon☦️ by His Grace Bishop Thomas. Three generations served together♥️ my fil, Fr Constantine, my husband and our oldest son was an alter boys. Fr Joseph was so thoughtful in asking him to read the Epistle so he had a special way of participating♥️. It was amazing to see our local community, people from all the surrounding parishes, come out to support and celebrate together
St John the Russian is a great and holy example for us in difficult times. Its been a few years since I read this to my boys, and my oldest saw it in our monthly youth booklet. His reaction was simply "wow", so we talked about the apple and decided to see if we could scoop out a secret chamber in an apple at the house... If you try send photos!
Here's another peek at my St Raphael kids' work! We drew flamingoes as a fun warm up, before tackling flying doves. We looked at a variety of icons with doves (Noah's ark- Epiphany). Talked about the Holy Spirit a little and then set to work. Remember, these are zoom classes so the kids did this 100% with their own hands. At the end I told them that they could color the birds however they wanted and so... unique creations!
